This was a website design I created for a client who was in need of a complete website overhaul. His goal was to create a brand for himself that would rise above other people in the industry, but also speak to his personality as a performer. In this project, I deconstructed the original website, redesigned it with his preferred style in mind, and iterated on these designs to achieve something that is simple and modern.
Here's a sneak peak of the before and after.
The first step was site architecture. When people view his site, they need to be able to see his talent and book his service above all else. This is what inspired the two buttons I included in the hero section. Another important element was creating CTA buttons throughout the site. Despite it being a small website, I wanted to prioritize this to ensure that his service is readily available, and covers a wide range for an individual performer. Each of these elements lead to specific forms for the service the user is booking.
Next was creating a powerful design system to showcase it's true potential to my client through prototypes, but also to swiftly navigate the inevitable iterations that occur throughout the process. This also came in handy because I was not the developer on this project, so having these resources to handoff saved a lot of time.
Finally, I wanted to make it pop with really clean UI. Using photoshop to prep his images, I was (literally) able to make him stand out. Applying a consistent design style across all pages, I was able to establish a strong brand presence with unique colors, typography styles and custom functionality. This in combination created an experience that users can seamlessly navigate through.
The goal of this project was to create a site that stands out, but also garner attention from people who may be interested in hiring a performer for a special event. Of course, every designer can think of a thousand different ways they would redesign their work, but I'm actually quite proud of this one.
